Mostply uses internationally recognised Ludo rules with a few clearly stated platform-specific additions. Here is what every player needs to know.
A token can only leave its starting home position when you roll a 6. Each 6 also grants you an additional turn before play passes to the next player.
Landing on a square occupied by an opponent sends their token back to its starting home. Capturing awards a bonus roll. Safe squares (marked on the board) cannot be captured from.
Two tokens of the same colour on the same non-safe square form a blockade that cannot be passed or captured. Maximum of one blockade active per player at any time on Mostply.
To bring a token home you must roll the exact number needed. The first player to bring all four tokens home wins. In Turbo mode, the first player to bring both tokens home wins.
If a player disconnects, Mostply holds their turn for 60 seconds. After that, the dice rolls automatically. Matches abandoned mid-game are decided by current token position – the player with the most tokens closest to home wins.
Ludo is far more strategic than most casual players realise. Here are the approaches that consistently separate Mostply's top leaderboard finishers from average players:
Never keep all tokens bunched together. Spreading forces your opponent to split their attention when choosing which token to target. A single lead token far ahead creates constant capture pressure.
A blockade placed on a square your opponents' tokens must pass through can pin them for multiple turns. Combine a blockade with an aggressive lead token to create a two-front problem for your rivals.
Sending an opponent back to home is often better value than advancing your own token by the same number of squares. A captured token loses all its progress – sometimes 20+ squares of advancement in one roll.
In Turbo Ludo's 8-second auto-roll rule, always plan your move immediately after the dice lands rather than after considering. Deliberate opponents lose turns to the auto-roll far more often than decisive ones.
